GRANT STARK, CFA®
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Grant E. Stark, CFA, is a Partner and the Director of Research at CapWealth, where he works alongside Tim Pagliara to oversee the firm’s investment strategies. Since joining the industry in 2008, Grant has specialized in value investing, distressed assets, and special situation securities. Before joining CapWealth, Grant spent nearly a decade at Fairholme Capital Management, where he led in-depth investment analysis and strategy development for major holdings, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, American International Group, and Howard Hughes Holdings. Following his departure from Fairholme in 2017, he successfully built a private business headquartered in New York City, which became one of the largest fleet owners and operators of Mercedes Metris vans in the U.S. and exited active management in early 2020 before joining CapWealth.
Grant earned a Bachelor’s degree with distinction in Finance from the University of Miami and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is also a co-founder of the Miami chapter of the American Enterprise Institute’s Enterprise Club. In addition to working in the financial services industry, Grant is an FAA-licensed pilot and Advisor to the Board of Directors for the La Porte County Historical Steam Society. He currently resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
